Plasma TV Sale
The market constantly sees ups and downs, especially during the plasma TV sale. According to the recent studies, 2009 has seen a decline in the sale of plasma TV sales by 22 per cent in the first quarter. Quarter on quarter, demand for plasma screens dropped even more – 28 per cent.
Across the plasma market, Panasonic was highest selling brand this past quarter, snagging 37 percent of plasma panel shipments worldwide. Samsung came in second with 31 percent. LG followed with 26 per cent.
One company bucking the trend is DisplaySearch. Thanks to cost cutting on high definition Plasma TVs sales were pushed up 37 per cent in the third quarter to 4.2 million units. The company predicts Plasma TV sale of 15.5 million units for this year.
The highest as selling brands were Panasonic, followed by Samsung, LG, Pioneer and Hitachi.
Plasma TVs have an obvious advantage in the segment of massive 60-inch-or-larger HDTVs. At the higher end of the market, leading plasma TV manufacturer, Panasonic plasma tvs purchased Pioneer’s plasma patents and hired many of the engineers to work in Pioneer’s plasma division. This bodes well for future high-end Panasonic plasma tvs and there is bound to be a technology trickle-down to their consumer lines.
Plasma TV Sales
Presently, the plasma TV sales of Panasonic’s Viera series model have shot up in the market. It’s a bit pricey but there are plenty of other models to suit different budgets.
Although not quite satisfied with their revenues off plasma TVs Pioneer has launched the 1080p model. The current crop of 50″ HDTV plasma screens, feature lower prices than ever and posses enhanced picture qualities. Once Panasonic, Toshiba and the other big players get involved in the 1080p Plasma race, prices will fall, bugs will be worked out, and the consumer will have several value for money choices to pick from.
However, “Unlike LCD TVs, plasma TV sale have not been able to offset lower average prices by reaching high volumes in their larger screen sizes,” says an industry analyst. But it’s still early days for this technology and future sales will depend on newer and better offerings in terms of price and performance.
Recently the 42-inch Panasonic TC-P42X1 has been selling for just $599.99, and the 50-inch version, the TC-P50X1, costs $799.99. A sub-$600, 42-inch plasma HDTV from a top-tier manufacturer is mind-boggling value for money. And what’s more? For $200 more, you can go big with a 50-inch screen. If you are in the market for a TV, grab one of these opportunities before the manufacturers come to their senses.
