Plasma TV

Well, just when we think that plasma TVs are in fashion today, the myth breaks up completely giving way to the previous prediction. As predicted earlier, the plasma TVs are on their way out of the trend. And adding a nail into its coffin is the Pioneer Corp. the company recently is known to have stopped the further production of the new plasma display panels.

The company that had previously decided to stop the production of the 42 inch plasma televisions, has now expanded this closure to the entire plasma TV panel range. This news comes through the industry sources that briefed about the plans and by the details quoted by Reuters in their article. And surprisingly, after the release of this news into the market, the Pioneer shares jumped up to about their four months high with an 11.2 % high. And this is the very reason to the death of plasma TVs.

There have been a large number of expectations from the company as it is the world’s fifth largest company manufacturing these high quality plasma TVs of all sizes. However, the company has been struggling hard against the larger companies like Panasonic. However, the company will continue manufacturing the lcd TV by picking up the lcd panels from its opposite competing brand, Sharp.

All the investors of the company knew well and fine that the company has been suffering through its plasma division since several years. the company also decided to compete against the other company’s without actually competing against the low-priced global market. Mitsushige Akino, the chief fund manager of the company quoted, “This is an excellent development”. He further added, “Pioneer could have chosen another way and stepped up its plasma investment despite the fact that the business is bleeding red ink, but it’s a wise step to decide against that… a quicker decision would have been even better”. Thus, in simple words, the trend of plasma TVs is slowly fading away with the coming new time.
